Blog Challenge - Day Eighteen

Day 18-Something you regret

Since I really hate to waste time, the one thing that I regret is not going to nursing school the first time around when I was at the W. I knew that I wanted to be a nurse but was too afraid to take the classes and was too interested in having fun. What I ended up doing was getting my B.A. in Psychology (USELESS) then going back to nursing school after Jeff and I got married. I feel like it was a waste of time but I know that it was all part of God's plan.  

Blizzard in the Deep South

Jeff and a few buds from work go hunting in North MS every year the first week in January. I saw that as the perfect opportunity to go see Aunt Lane and Uncle Mikey in Tulsa, OK. H did so well on her first flight, and since she is just a good baby in general, I felt confident we could fly to Tulsa without too much fuss. We flew out in the evening right at her dinner time which was perfect timing. I gave her a bottle and she slept the entire flight to Houston, during our short stop (we stopped in Houston but we didn't have to get off because our plane was continuing on to Tulsa) and all the way until about 10 minutes before we landed. She got a little fussy but I think it was just because of pressure changes with landing.
Once we got to Aunt Lane and Uncle Mikey's new house we spent the rest of the week lounging and enjoying their company. I think the only time we left the house was to go to the mall for a big sale at The Children's Place and for Lane to introduce me to her "friend" at the Gap. We also got some Orange Julius which is our fav. Here are a few pictures of our fun trip lounging...

Aunt Lane arranged for H to have an exersaucer to play with while we were there. She absolutely love it. If we had any more room in our house we'd get her one, but we are full to the brim.

Again in the airport with her new favorite take-along toy, Minnie Mouse. Yes, she's wearing skinny jeans! (Thanks Mamaw, we love them.)

Now getting to Tulsa was a snap. Getting home, that was a totally different story. Because I was traveling alone with a small child I was able to board first which I was totally pumped about. That didn't actually turn out to our advantage. After everyone boarded the plane, the FA's went through their routine the captain comes over the intercom and says we are having electrical difficulties and we cannot leave. They call in mechanics and work and work and work. One hour later he comes back and explains what the problem is and that basically we need a new part that is in Dallas. They are going to fly it in but it wouldn't arrive until 5. Then they would have to replace the part and get us to Houston. That just wasn't going to work for us since our connection was at 6:40. After talking with Jeff, we made the decision for me to get off the plane and we'd figure out some other way for me to get home. If there wasn't going to be a "blizzard in the deep south" the next day I could have just re-booked. I have such amazing family Lane and Mike drove me to Little Rock, AR where Jeff picked me up. They all drove all night long just for me and H. We finally made it home around 5am. WHEW!
And in case you were wondering, Jeff got a deer while hunting. My freezer is full of yummy deer meat!

Day 17- Something you're looking forward to

Right now I am starting to look forward to Hayden's 1st birthday party. Since she is absolutely in love with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, I'm thinking that will be our theme.  I have some ideas about the party but I am most looking forward to how Hayden is going to react to everything. She has such a big personality already there's no telling what she'll be doing in 5 more months. I have so many thoughts running through my head like, will she be walking? will she be talking? will she have enough hair for a big giant bow? and most of all what will she do with the CAKE?

Blog Challenge - Day Sixteen

Day 16-Dream house

When I got married, my tastes changed.

When I had a baby, my tastes really changed.

Way back in the day I wanted a big ole house with at least 2 floors and lots of rooms. Then I realized I'd have to clean all that mess. SO, I decided I'd just have a moderate sized house, but with 2 floors. Then I realized I'd have to haul a baby and ALL of her "stuff" up and down those stairs. SO, now I have decided I'd just like to have a little bit bigger house than we be have now definitely with a dining room and 4 bedrooms. I also want more counter space in the kitchen and a bigger shower, none of that garden tub/stand up shower combo. I'm not picky, really. Nothing really "Dreamy" about my house wants.

Blog Challenge - Day Fifteen

Day 15-Bible verse

Mmmmkay, there is absolutely no way I could limit this post to just one verse. I think that as I've walked with God He has revealed verses that have been pertinent to me in different times of my life. Some times are good and some not so much but because each verse represents a certain part of my life they have become one of my favs. Having said that, these are a list of my favs, SO FAR...

2 Timothy 1:7 For the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

James 1:2-3 Consider if pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials knowing that the testing of your faith brings patience.

Revelation 3:16 So because you are luke warm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control.

Psalm 91:11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; (really the whole chapter)

Exodus 15:26b for I am the Lord, who heals you.

As I read each one I can remember a specific time in my life when God was transforming me through his word. It's amazing to look back and see how His hand was guiding me these last 30 years.
