Day 14-A picture you love

I love this picture of the two of us being silly! We had such a great time cruising before you-know-who came along. But I wouldn't trade it for the world! We are actually thinking of taking her with us on her first cruise later in early 2011.

Bathing Beauty

Um I think we are outgrowing our baby tub. Tonight during bath time H was playing with her keys when they got away from her. She sat up to retreive them but got stuck and then couldn't get turned back around.

Following "the incident" we put on our robe and did some laughing and playing on the bed. Thanks to Granny for the cute little whale robe.

Going to Wal-Mart tomorrow to check out other tub options. Got any advice?

Day 13-Goals

Goals are something that have just recently come to appreciate and honestly, understand. Just ask my husband, I am kind of a goal freak now. It all started about a month ago at work when I set my goals for the upcoming year. I've since printed out these goals and carry them with me to ensure everyday that I go to work I am actually working towards my goals. It has become an obsession really. Now that we are about to embark into a new year I'd like to carry my goal-ism into my personal life. Instead of the typical resolutions people usually set then forget about by February, Jeff and I will be setting goals along with an action plan to fulfill them by the end of the year. Saturday is the big goal setting day. Wish me luck!

Baby food makin' fool!

We did it! We finally made our first batch of baby food! Hayden gobbled it up, too. Carrots and green beans were our first attempt at steaming, straining and pureeing. It was actually quite easy. A friend of mine gave me a baby cookbook that I read from cover to cover before taking my stab at baby cuisine. Besides the initial 2 veggies we have been making bananas for breakfast every morning. Next up is avocado, apples and maybe sweet potatoes. I can't wait to see how she reacts to each new food. Being a mom is awesome!

*****I've been trying to post a video of H eating her bananas but can't seem to get it to work. I'll keep trying so stay tuned.

Busy Little Girl

Hayden is getting so big so fast! I cannot believe she will be 6 months old next week. It seems like just yesterday that she was just a little peanut in my belly. This time last year I was sick as a dog and as lazy as one, too all the while dreaming of what our baby would look, act and be like. It's been a roller coaster of a year. Here are a few pictures of Hayden as she has grown and gotten to be a "big girl".

Day 11-Favorite TV shows

OK this is a no brainer... FRIENDS FRIENDS FRIENDS! I love that show. Not only do I still TiVo every rerun I also have seasons 5-10 on DVD. (Jeff gets me one for Christmas every year) But I have to admit I am a little bit jealous of them. I mean how do they all hold jobs while hanging out at either the coffee shop or Monica's apartment all day everyday?

A few of my favorite episodes are The One With The Baby Shower, The One Where Joey Speaks French, The One In Barbados part 1 & 2, The One With The Videotape, The One Where Ross Drinks Too Much, The One With The Stoned Guy, The One Where Paul's The Man and The One With The Embryos.

Day 10-Something you're afraid of

There is actually a whole list of things that I could enter in this post. But instead I am going to focus on just the opposite. One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Timothy 1:7, "For the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self control." It has been one that God has reminded me of time and time again. Fear is something I struggle with often, mostly the fear of the "what ifs" - what if Jeff or Hayden get really sick, what if our house burns down, etc. I guess that's why God has to keep reminding me through this verse that fear is not from Him and that he has given us tools to overcome it.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear," I John 4:18a

"GOD is love." I John 4:8b
Based on these two verses if God is love and love casts out all fear, then God will remove all our fears. We just have to let Him. We can't hold on to our fears, they will give Satan the open door he needs to wedge in between us and God and prevent us from being His servants and worshipers. Just think about it, what if God is calling us to do something but we are scared of how it will be perceived by others so we do nothing, all out of fear! At that point we have disobeyed God and missed out on His blessings in our life and possibly blessing others through Him. Oh silly little fear! Praise the Lord who is STRONGER than any and all obstacles in our path.
