There is actually a whole list of things that I could enter in this post. But instead I am going to focus on just the opposite. One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Timothy 1:7, "For the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self control." It has been one that God has reminded me of time and time again. Fear is something I struggle with often, mostly the fear of the "what ifs" - what if Jeff or Hayden get really sick, what if our house burns down, etc. I guess that's why God has to keep reminding me through this verse that fear is not from Him and that he has given us tools to overcome it.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear," I John 4:18aBased on these two verses if God is love and love casts out all fear, then God will remove all our fears. We just have to let Him. We can't hold on to our fears, they will give Satan the open door he needs to wedge in between us and God and prevent us from being His servants and worshipers. Just think about it, what if God is calling us to do something but we are scared of how it will be perceived by others so we do nothing, all out of fear! At that point we have disobeyed God and missed out on His blessings in our life and possibly blessing others through Him. Oh silly little fear! Praise the Lord who is STRONGER than any and all obstacles in our path.
