This past week H went on her very first school field trip. She and her friends went to Pump It Up, a local gym filled with inflatable slides, obstacle courses and jumpy things, for lack of a better term. Judging by her dare devil antics at the park I thought she would be all climbing, sliding and jumping all over everything...WRONG! My poor baby was terrified. She wouldn't get on anything even with me or her teacher, Ms. Honey, on it with her. So she spent the morning running around the gym and playing with all different size balls.

Doing some "gymnastics" on the mats
After playing on the inflatables for a while lunch was served then DESSERT! We don't normally (ever, really) let H have candy but today was a special occasion. And since her friends Jackson and Loxley's mom made some special Easter cupcakes I let H have just a taste. She took just one bite of the cupcake but went to town on the jelly bean decorations on top. It literally took her 5 minutes to chew one jelly bean and she was drooling ALL over the place. It was cute and I think she really enjoyed her treat.
Lunchtime!
Next came Easter egg hunting time. Now this was the most fun she had on her field trip! She loved finding the eggs and putting them in her pail. She even braved an inflatable obstacle course to get some eggs. After all the eggs were retrieved she wanted to open all of them. It's like she knew there was more candy inside. I was able to hold her off with just a package of Smarties and that seemed to satisfy her.
Standing in line like a big girl waiting to go egg hunting
She found some!
The ONLY time she got in the inflatables.
Trying to get a picture of all the kids.
H's first field trip was a super success even though she was scared to death of the inflatables. She had lots of fun playing with her friends and hunting Easter eggs. It was also good practice for all the other hunts we have planned for this year.
